One of our nurses was banging away on a history or invoice, she doesn't remember which, but suddenly the type on the screen has become TINY.  To the point where you can barely see it.

Reminder branding by species/location

Fri, 03/02/2012 - 22:42

Is anyone aware of a way to produce a different style of reminder (print-out) per species? We are primarily a feline clinic, but wanted to make our branding more canine specific when possible. The current reminder is highly branded -- and has cats on it.

We thought that perhaps there's a way to do this with locations... since templates can be tied there... but it seems that all the reminders would still pop-up in one place since it's a query on patients. Perhaps we need a separate set of reminders, as well as a separate location? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Paul

label printer

Thu, 02/02/2012 - 15:52

I am about to get a label printer. I have not used one before. Are there any which are most suited to OpenVPMS? If not, does anyone have good or bad opinions on particular brands/models?

microchip form(car)

Thu, 02/02/2012 - 10:41

Has anyone else noticed that when you bill a neuter proceedure and then bill a microchip, and then print both the neuter certificate and the car rego form....the car rego form still has the animal listed as entire.

Default expiry date for Estimates

Wed, 01/02/2012 - 09:39

Hi there,

Currently our estimates are set up so that we can manually put in an expiry date when generating them. My question is how can I set up the estimates so that it manually defaults to 1 month (or 30 days) from when it is generated (currently the default is no date at all). I was having a dig around archetypes and got a bit nervous changing anything without advice.

Thanks very much

Sarah

Reports

Mon, 30/01/2012 - 06:25

Hello,

Does anyone know if the following report / report type exist. We would like to monitor what procedures we are doing each month e.g. how many ultrasounds we performed in the month of January.

Thanks

Till balancing bug(let)?

Thu, 26/01/2012 - 14:27

It looks like the till balancing list is showing the date of the first transaction, or something other than the date of the last transaction in the balance. Note that the till balance close is on 1/24, with only 1 transaction on 1/23. It seems to me that this should be listed as 1/24 on the list of balance clearings at the top... perhaps it's by design though? Screenshot attached.

Thanks, Paul

A possible cut/paste bug in scheduler

Wed, 25/01/2012 - 18:23

Hi All,
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but if I try to move a pending appointment by pressing Ctrl-X and then paste it into an occupied cell by mistake it creates a whole new column with the same label as the original target column. It's not possible to then cut and paste this appointment elsewhere but instead you have to delete it at which point the "new" column disappears as well. I have   enclosed screenshots to show what happens.

Printing using remote printers

Wed, 25/01/2012 - 13:32

At the moment, I can access Open VPMS remotely via VPN. However, I can not print using remote printers.

The server is at the clinic, and I would like to have drop down options to print from either printers in the clinic (and so are directly wired to the server) or printers that are remote (and so will be wireless).

How can this be done?

Infinite loop

Wed, 25/01/2012 - 04:12

It looks like we somehow ended up in an infinite(-ish) loop today. Restarting tomcat solved the problem. Stack trace attached. Only difference is that I did enable the patient age formatting today -- but that may be completely unrelated.

Incidentally, the forum here doesn't allow upload of files ending with ".log". I renamed to ".log.txt".

Cheers, Paul

Re: Adding the ability to add clients and patients via an external website

Thanks Tim,

I have drupal setup to collect the information via a webform and store it in a table. I have had a bit of a play around with kettle, I can get the data into kettle from the table in the drupal database but I'm not sure how to use the plugin and get it into openvpms. Does the plugin use some sort of nomenclature to map the data?

Thanks in advance,
Matt.

Adding the ability to add clients and patients via an external website

Thu, 19/01/2012 - 22:10

Message from matt@cavh.com.au matt@cavh.com.au

Hi all,

I would like to be able to have new clients access a webform via our website
and then directly enter their own details and their pet's details and then
have that information be able to be passed into openvpms to create a new
client and new patient there.

I have currently implemented this to some extent where clients can submit a
form via our website, then the results are emailed to us. We then have to
copy and paste the information into OpenVPMS which defeats the purpose to
some extent, although the information does tend to be more accurate compared
to it being hand-written by the client and then interpreted and typed by a
nurse.

What would be the best way of going about this? I was thinking that either:

1) some sort of web services/ API could be setup to allow external websites
to authenticate and add clients, contacts, patients, etc.
2) a separate application could be written purely for the purposes described
which would directly add a client and patient to the database.

Ideally some sort of approval queue could be used so that any new submissions
can be checked by a real person before being accepted.

I find that there is alot of misinterpretation of people's handwriting and we
end up with incorrect data. This could eliminate it as we could have clients
directly enter the data themselves via a computer terminal/laptop/tablet in
the waiting room or at home prior to their appointment.

New Reoprt for Reminder Re-Printing

Thu, 19/01/2012 - 16:03

Hi All,

I'm putting the feelers out to see if anyone else would find having a report that could essentially reverse a reminder run, or in some way allow a reminder run that had been "finalised" to be run again?

We feel it would be useful when a printer error has occurred, as currently we can't go back and simply "re-print" if the date range has been closed off/finalised.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Jess

Provet Interface

Wed, 18/01/2012 - 15:24

And now for the real reason I logged on.  Has anyone used the interface and do you find it saves any time?  excluding the fact that if you don't already use provet, then you need to source all their product codes, It seems to have all the same steps and am not sure it is going to save any time?  what you others found?

Reminder Letter Recovery

Tue, 17/01/2012 - 12:31

Hi,

Is anyone able to tell me if there is a way of recovering reminder letters (eg vaccinations etc) if/when a printer catastrophe occurs?

As an example: We did our usual reminder run but found (cause unknown) that some reminders began printing on a different printer? (those reminders were lost due to the printer job cancelling).

Cheers,

Jess

setting up investigation types

Thu, 12/01/2012 - 14:46

Hi,

We are in the process of setting investigation types to link to lab products/fees. We have about 50 lab fees that we need to attach them to- does anyone know if you can do this in a bulk lot (as all the fees start with the word "lab") or do I have to add them individually?

Thanks, Kerry
